Hi guys. I am trying to generate a block structured mesh in the fluid area around a disc with spherical identations on one surface of the disc in ICEM. I am really struggling at the moment to proper mesh the edge of the disc. To make my problem easier to understand I exported the initial grid to Fluent and visiualized my problem with screens from fluent on a 2D plane through the disc. In the first picture(unzoomed one) you can see that the edge of the disc is close to a set of indentations. When you take a closer look on the edge of the disc you can see that the elements there are skewed on the disc edge for some reason and are not straight like the rest of the elements above the edge. To proper mesh the edge and the area above the disc i splitted up the geometry in three blocks(i have marked them in the unzoomed picture). The same thing also happens when I merge block 1 and 2. What could be the reason for those unwanted skewed elements? How can i solve this? I also attached some pictures of my blocking with a zoom on the specific edge.

Do you need more information or a more detailed description of the problem? Does nobody knows a solution? I think the face or edge of the disc side block is associated wrong but I don't know how and on which surface/edge i have to associate it. I think for some reason the close spherical indentation is causing this problem. I am a beginner in ICEM. I hope you can help me.

Gert-Jan will become famous soon enough
On the top left hand side, you see the tree with (out of my head):

- Geometry
- Mesh
- Blocking
- Parts

If you open Blocking you see a lot of items, from which one is:
- edge

Click with your right mouse button and (oh magic) a lot of option appear. You are looking for "Show association".
Guess you can do the same with vertices and surfaces. But, as mentioned, this is out of my head..........

In the blocking menu there is an icon with a 'yellow hand'. In this menu, you can re-associate edges to the correct curves, vertices to the correct points, etc.

Thank you very much for your help but this didn't solve the problem. I took again a look at the surfaces and the surface of the disc didn't follow the curve proper.Under settings model/units I changed the triangulation tolerance which solved the problem!
