I am simulating very long heat exchanger buried in ground in 2d around 200 meters.
The geometry is created. But, i face an issue in meshing with high skewness. so i tried to slice the geometry but unfortunately does not work
I appreciate if someone can help me. how i can do slicing in 2d geometry.

pictures are attached.

I got no idead why you're not using a mapped mesh, it would be much easier to generate a mesh in such a 2D geometry

Hi Amin
Thx for your reply , since my geometry is very long , Pipe depth around 200 meter and pipe dia 30 mm, it is difficult to apply map face mesh , i tried to do it , but it dose not work, i got an advise to do a slice meshing then apply map face mesh. but the issue i do not know how i can do slicing for the geometry. also , i need to control the number of elements and node below 512k.

Can you please advise and really apprecaite your reply

well, the dimension of your model has nothing to do with mapped meshing, all you need to do is adding pre-defined feature called face meshing in Ansys meshing and selecting your mesh. You might prefer having a 4-edge face , otherwise you'll have to deal with some extra settings. And if you wanna controll your nodes in your domain, simply use edge sizing feature.

About the slice, there are different methods, I personally prefer to have a master part (in 2D a master surface) which has overlap with other parts and simpy manage this part (slice it) using boolean>subtract.
