Hi everyone.

I'm studying the different mesh metric criteria and among those, there is the "Element Quality" criterion.

In the way it is calculated it includes a factor which correspond to every different kind of element, so it's got a different value for each of these elements.

Element Quality

The following table lists the value of C for each type of element:

I want to know how good is this criterion to measure the quality of the elements in a mesh? Where do these "C" numbers come from? What do they mean? How are these calculated?

I did some research on this but found no answers...
