Hi there,

I am trying to model a micro channel using the K-omega SST turbulence model.

Firstly I modeled this for smooth flow and everything was great and I was getting a Y+ of 1. Now I have added a surface roughness the Y+ has shot up to 100, I have read the law of the wall and adjusted my geometry appropriately and my roughness size according to the virtually shifting wall but my Y+ is still up around 20-50, I have made many attempts at adjusting the mesh but nothing seems to bring it down.

Any recommendations???

If any more info is required please ask

Its so that I can see how surface roughness influences heat transfer in additively manufactured gas turbine vanes.

apologies for taking so long to get back.

Hey there its because we want to monitor the heat transfer effects from the rough surface.
