Hello everyone,
I have found a problem when doing a finer mesh in ICEM. I want to get a Y+ of 30 in my simulation, so I calculated the necessary Y of the first cell and I got a Y=0,000003 m. Al rigth, I went to ICEM and used my previous mesh and set the spacing of 0,000003 in Z direction (of the flow) and I proceed to create the mesh. When I check the Quality criteria on ICEM, I found that I went from 0,7765 to 0,345. So I deciden to check the elements with poor quality and I realize they have some skewness in them, near the center of the O-grid. I try to fix it by aligning the vertex of the block in the same position of Z (beacuse the skewness appears in the Z direction) but it didn't do anything, still I get the same result. One way I try to fix it it was to create a 100 times bigger geometry and scale in FLUENT the resulting mesh with a bigger spacing of nodes to see if the vertices of the mesh remains aligned. But it didnt work, the quality in Fluent dropped once I scaled. So, any ideas why this happens and how to fix it? I attached some captures so you could see the skewness of the cells. Thanks! |

Could you share your problematic geometry with your blocking picture
