tripleggg is on a distinguished road
Hi, I am a super beginner in Ansys and would like to know how to mesh a double pipe heat exchanger in ICEM(as attached in the attachments).

I created the geometry in ICEM, first by making a closed cylinder as the inner pipe and an open cylinder as the outer pipe, I then created the surface for the inlet using the curves from the cylinders.

After defining the bodies, I blocked the geometry and set the mesh parameters, I found that only the outer pipe surface and the inlet volume is meshed, along with the cross sections. The rest of the surfaces and volumes were not meshed.

May i please know the problem and have some guidance? Thank you so much.

If the internal wall has a defined thickness you can do a straight forward blocking. You just have to assign your fluid and solid volume mesh to separate parts. For zero thickness internal wall you have to associate the internal wall's faces to the internal wall manually. Use "Associate Face -> Surface" with option like "nearest" or "part". If attached two simple example cases for zero and non zero thickness internal wall.
