I am doing an analysis of a building in ansys cfx and recently I moved from the ansys mesher to ICEM.
Despite following tutorials and looking up on lectures and posts in this forum, I am having a problem I could not yet solve. The mesher is generating elements outside of the fluid domain. The geometry was made in SpaceClaim, the domain included. Once inside ICEM, I used "build topology" and tried diferent things: 1) fluid and solid bodys, but in this case it created mesh inside the solid also; 2) created only fluid body, but it is creating mesh outside fluid domain; 3) with no body, the mesher create some CREATED_MATERIALS but still with elements outside of fluid domain. All cases I used Octree Mesh Method. geometry.jpg fluid domain.JPG fluid domain with body.JPG mesh outside fluid domain.JPG build topology.JPG |

Odd, as you said you ran Build Topology first to generate the curves and points, did you alter the options here, see the User Guide.
