Hello guys,
I am new in ICEM (started before 2 weeks) and i am working in a project which includes a fan with housing inside of a rectangular duct. Till now, I've managed to make the mesh for the fan and the casing with quality greater than 0.3 and without any problems in check mesh. My problems are starting when i am trying to make the volume mesh inside of the duct. To make it easier to understand, i will describe the steps that i am doing in logical flow and add pics for some steps. 1) complete the surface mesh for casing and propeller 2) making the duct which surfaces are attached in the casing surfaces 3) run topology so i can split the surfaces of the duct in the region of the casing 4) making the surface mesh for duct (quality is good, only double edge elements in check mesh which is not a problem as i saw in the forum ) 5) making the fluid material inside of the duct 6) create volume mesh in fluid part (delaunay) with hexa-core , not prisms yet 7) first problem is that fluid part is going inside of the casing, although I got already a material point for the casing. In the propeller, I don't have this problem. (I think it is caused because of splitting surfaces in the duct) 8) second problem is bad quality volume elements ( didn't make any prism yet or try to fix the quality by smooth globally because of the first problem ). How can i improve them? If you can suggest me something to solve 7) and 8) step, I would be realy greatfull. Also any ideas for trying something different are welcome. If necessary I can upload the prj file. Thanks in advance. pics: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AgHf8Bb9lj7blGkoH72tWjQ9OaDU |
