Hi everyone!
I'm trying to analyze an annular wing made from a high cambered airfoil with a blunt trailing edge. The lift side is turned towards the center of the annulus so that air gets accelerated in the throat. This airfoil is made by increasing S1210 trailing edge thickness by 3%. I'm doing an axisymmetric analysis to save time. However, I'm not sure on how to mesh this with ICEM. I've tried different approaches but I think that the mesh quality is low. I'm doing a series of simulations with different wind speeds and different angles of attack. I managed to get a sufficiently good mesh for 9° AoA but I'm having troubles with 14° AoA. Actually my 14° mesh is way better than my 9° but I'm getting a warning on high aspect ratio. I'm having trouble reaching a convergence on less than 1e-3 residuals and I think the reason is my poor mesh quality. Any ideas on how I can improve my mesh? |
