Hello, everyone,

I have faced an annoy request during automation of parameter model in design modeler.

Please refer to the attached Picture, I'm seeking for a automatic method for substract the whole body if the body is already partial or fully contained by the toolbody. Such as the red point target bodies in the attached picture, they are partial contained by the toolbody, they should be substract complete once the operation is finished. The default boolean substract only delete the overlap region.

=====================
The above problem has been solved by using nizhantiw's method.

Now another new problem comes out for better meshing.

For some of the location, after the subtract, there will be a very narrow space, which will result in a very urgly.

Any suggestions for this?

From my point, if we can automatic cut a hole at below red point, it's OK.

However as I'm using parameter study in workbench, I would like to put the generation of modeler, mesh, solution automaticly for different design points (with different diameter). So the fix for these narrow space should be parameter able.

I think first you have to create the tool body with add material method then Boolean it. It will work guaranteed.

Yes, you are absolutely right, btw it is not gonna disturb the solutions
If I can increase the dia of the cut out hole it will serve the purpose or u can increase the dia of the holes embedded on the plate.

This will not work, as enlarge the dia of the holes embedded on the plate will make the previous non-narrow space to be narrow space, even this will also make some previous narrow space away.

Otherwise go to the sketching and make the Line tangent to the circular hole

The red pointed space will make some cells with skewness value larger than 0.95 during sweep meshing, finally cause the k-eplison to unable to converge

just give edge sizing lower than global sizing and make sure behavoir is "HARD"
