Hi,

Currently, I'm trying to generate a structured mesh on a wind turbine and encountered some difficulties. As usual, the geometry of wind turbine was designed in Solidworks and imported into Ansys Design modeler (below you can find turbine geometry with enclosure and rotation domain). However, it is difficult to generate a structured mesh on the turbine blade or even proper unstructured mesh. Can anybody help me by answering to below question:

1. Which technique is most appropriate for such kind of study(inside the Ansys): Ansys meshing, ICEM CFD or turbo grid?

2. How is it possible to generate mesh which will not deform geometry with curvatures( turbine blade). Which method to use? How to create rectangular mesh near the turbine blade?

3. Can anybody share the tutorial for such kind of meshing ( I'm going to use Fluent with rotating domain)?

I will be very glad if somebody can help me,

Thank you in advance

Try slicing to make it sweepable body if possible

Thank you for reply,

What do you mean by slicing, can you please specify it. Do you have a tutorial to share?

many thanks

Hello,

Did you solve your problem?
Have you ever tried to mesh the whole turbine (with tower)? If so, what method did you use?

Thank you
