Hey Guys,
I am performing URANS 3D simulations of wings using a hybrid mesh methodology with a structured near-field region (hex mesh blocking) and an unstructured far-field region (tetrahedral) , as shown in the pics below. I generate the two meshes in independent projects and import the two mesh files in FLUENT and define the common interface and run the simulation. Now the nodes at the interface don't match, which is not causing an issue in the solution except when I look at the vorticity contours. # Is there a way to make the two meshes conformal in ICEM itself? I tried merging the two meshes in ICEM by importing them and using the Merge Mesh option but it throws up an error as the cell size differs at the interface between the surface triangles and quads due to the impression of the leading edge and trailing edge cell densities on the interface surface. |
