Hi everybody,

for a while I have been trying to mesh a geometry with triangles for a volume-of-fluid method use. Since you may know, the reconstruction of the interface between two fluids is heavily dependent on the mesh.

My idea was to use triangles as equilateral as possible. Hence I used the multizone meshing method imposing that the free surface have to be meshed with triangles. Basically the geometry is a rectangle that abruptly expand in a widther rectangle. In the larger zone the mesh is amazingly regular with equilaterals triangles. However in the narrower triangle, triangles are create by splitting a square in two by it diagonal. This shape is not suitable for VOF.

On the other hand if a use simple triangle method the mesh is not regular enough (maybe I missed to set some parameters) and the boundary layer has a lower quality.

Hence my request is: does someone know how to mesh a simple 2D rectangle with equilaterals triangles and boundary layer ?
