Default Error: Conflicting Zone Names

Hi,

I have renamed all my geometry, contact regions and named selections. However I get an error message that says "The mesh translation to Fluent failed due to conflicting zone names." I have attached an image to show the geometry names and the error message.

Does my named selections and contact regions need to be the same name? would a different name of a contact region and a named selection cause a conflict?

Would anyone be able to help resolve this problem?

Thanks,
Sakeen.

I assume you have figured this out already. But if not, you must have included same boundary in multiple name selection. You can also fix it with Repair Overlapping Name Selection (it is visible when you right-click on the Named Selections).

Thank you for your reply, and yes I have figured it out. But if you may please help me with another issue I am having , I need to modify my geometry to separate solid zones and fluid zones and I am not sure how to do it. I know it has to be done during meshing, but I do not know how

You should be able to split your geometry using boolean operations in the CAD program i.e. Design Modeler or SpaceClaim. You can watch following videos to get hints/instructions.

If you are using Design Modeler, you can follow this video and if If you are using Spaceclaim, you can follow this video.
