Hi everyone !

I'm working on an engine prototype that involves water injection in the cylinder. We are for now using modified fuel injectors to inject the water directly in the combustion chamber, and I would like to run CFD simulations to better understand the evaporation process.

I'm looking for a set of different injector geometries to run CFD simulations under ANSYS FLUENT and to compare them:
- GDI injector (inwardly and outwardly opening)
- Diesel injector (multiholes)
- PFI injector
- Air-blast injector

If someone had such kinds of geometries (or meshes) and could share them I would be very thankful (my email is ao.jie@outlook.com). At this point I have tried to build some geometries with Catia and to mesh them with ICEM CFD, but for now the results are not as good as I excepted .

The main idea is to compare different injection methods, such as cone shape sprays and compact spray shapes

I'm also open to any advice about geometry building and meshing .

Best regards !

Hey,

As far as engines are concerned I suggest using AVL fire. That software was designed for those kind of pursposes

Best regards

Thank you for your advice. I considered using AVL fire before we start the project but finally decided to use FLUENT because I'm more familiar with ANSYS environment. But it turns out that it would probably be less time consuming to use an engine dedicated software .
I'm also considering using ANSYS FORTE, someone knows where to find tutorials ?
