Hi all,
I'm currently working on a paper. The goal is to simulate the air flow in a curved rectanglar tube. The problem is I'm a complete newby when it comes to CFD... I'm planing to mesh the whole thing using ICEM CFD. I've already got a CAD modell of the tube in Solidworks. I can import the modell via an .STL file into ICEM. I'm not realy sure how to get a good mesh for my problem. Could anybody of you guys try to help me out ? Thanks Tim |

Regring my problem, there re some good an some b news... I importe the whole file into the ANSYS-Workbench. I meshe it and calculated with an inlet-velocity of 200m/s. The results look good. But... it seems that I messed the mesh up. There aren't some "volumes" in the tube, as seen in the attached file. Can someone help me? Tim |

How did you mesh your geometry?
Did you associate your edge boundaries to the geometry? I can't help without any further detail |

Hi everyone!
I changed from ICEM-Meshing to the Meshing-Tool within the Ansys-Workbench. In order to get a first approche I did a simple 2D-mesh. Looks good and results are also fine. The next step was to figure out how to do it in 3D. It look like that the mesh is only going on the solid part of my geometry and not on the "inside" where the fluid is supposed to be... I think it's due to the fact that the body is open on both sides? Can someone help? Thanks Tim |
