Hello everyone, I attached pictures of the mesh issues I'm running into. Not only is the mesh uneven across the length of the pipe, but at the end of the pipe there is a weird orange layer of mesh that seems out of place.

When I load into Fluent it gives this weird bubble of mesh.

Do you know what's wrong and how I can fix it?

Thank you.

  1. The uneven mesh is because you have 'Proximity' or 'Curvature' or 'Proximity & Curvature' method on.
  2. I see patches of 'green' in the 'weird orange layer of mesh'. This indicates that you have overlapping regions. So actually you are seeing meshes of two regions one colored with green and other colored with orange.

You need to fix your geometry. You may have exta region that you dont need and have forgot to delete.

The other way: In Ansys meshing you can 'suppress' the extra region so you dont mesh it accidentally/unintentionally.

check your changes in DM (merges, etc.)
check your external geometry extension (if it is )
check your model tolerance
check your facet geometry
make finer mesh

This geometry was created using spaceclaim and volume extract. What sort of region might this be then? And how would I delete it?

Thank you.

You may have made error while selecting seed surface (thats where most people make mistake).

I recommend that you use preview slider to see where it is going wrong. It plays like an animation and when it goes wrong the faces should turn red.

Unless we see the complete model it is bit tricky to give you suggestions.
