Dear CFD Online Community,

I'm currently building and simulating a simple aircraft cabin model on ANSYS 17.0 to use it as validation for my upcoming work on airflow. The geometry of the model built in DesignModeler is attached.

The meshing for the model is done in ANSYS Meshing using tetrahedral elements only (2212365 tetrahedrons). A photo for the meshing is attached.

The problem I'm facing right now is that I want to create a translational periodic boundary between the back zone (shown in purple in the photo) and the front zone, which has the same geometry of the back, to have the flow in this section of the cabin repeated indefinitely so as to simulate the realistic whole cabin condition, but, unfortunately, I can't . This is because when I try to use the command line (mesh>modify-zones>make-periodic) in Fluent after importing the mesh, it gives me an error which reads: "Number of elements does not match between zone 6 and 7", where zones 6 and 7 are the front and back zones of the cabin, respectively.

My question is: how can I have the two zones (front & back) with the same exact number of meshing elements to make the translational periodic BC between them a success?

Thanks for your patient reading, and waiting for your useful replies.

Regards,
wanted89

Dear all,

I attached the photos cited in the text for my geometry and meshing as the links were not accessible by everyone.
