Converting to Parasolid using FE Modeller,

I'm trying to convert a deformed geometry into (any kind of) a solid, to edit in Solidworks, import into Workbench Mesher, and use in Fluent.
I'm exporting a .cbd from Mechanical, and trying to save as a .x_t. However, when converting to parasolid in FE Modeller, I'm encountering problems. 1. I'm dropping a face. Despite the skin detection tool initially finding the face, when converting, I'm dropping it. Is there a way/method to avoid this? 2. In one place, the parasolid is becoming fairly distorted. Again, is there a way/method to avoid this? Sidenote: Ive exported as .stl and .igs, but I need the flexibility and power of Solidworks CAD for building a domain. Solidworks doesn't like a .stl with 20000+ faces, and I don't have time to manually stitch them back together. Sidenote 2: Can anyone explain to me why a graphics window can (as far as I can see) accurately display edges of a mesh, and an export-to-solid algorithm cant? Thanks all, David |

.x_t is best import format i reckon so stick to it.
while importing and exporting it mite give you few options which you can click and suggest u need faces and bodies both! |
