Hi,

I am studying meniscus shape using ANSYS(17.1) Fluent, and having problem with the mesh. Meniscus shape consists of numerous facets, and Mesh in the whole system is generated without any error. However, mesh can not be exported and saved because of overlapping contact region in the geometry.

I used "Repair overlapping contact region" option to solve this problem, but ANSYS meshing program shows like: "Failed to repair Contact Region 1172. Contact Region 1172 has been suppressed." & "The mesh file exporter could not resolve cyclic dependencies in overlapping contact regions. Please try to Repair Overlapping Contact Regions."

Then, every contact region is suppressed, and mesh is not exported and saved.

Please let me know how to repair overlapping contact region, or to make better geometry.

Contact regions are said to be “overlapping” when the same entity is a member of more than one contact region or when multiple contact regions share the same geometry. ANSYS Fluent does not support overlapping contact regions.

you need to find the cyclic contact region ,and then suspress it
