Hi all,

I hope you can help me. I have recently started with my masters thesis and started working with Ansys icem and Fluent. I am currently trying to create a mesh around a truck driving on a road. To create the grid I first create a Robust (Octree) mesh and then build a Quick (Delaunay) mesh in which I also create the prism layers. However, I can't seem to correctly create prism layers on the road around the wheel. Even when these layers are created correctly Fluent will diverge (in k and omega) (usually when the amount of cells in the "turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio of 1.000e+05 in ... cells" message gets too high).

I use the SST k-omega model, and have already tried lowering the under-relaxation factors (to no avail). Right now I think it is due to the bad quality of cells around the wheels. Do any of you have any tips on how to improve this quality, and thereby create a mesh which will not diverge in Fluent?

(I've tried to create a single layer on the road and then splitting this, but when splitting this layer all my other layers on the truck are splitted as well, and since there are a different amount of layers per surface this leads to problems).
