I am having a problem in creating the Cartesian volumetric mesh using ICEM. My geometry consists of a building geometry within a control volume. The wall thickness is 2 mm and the control volume is 0.94*0.9*0.4 m3. I am attaching the screenshots of the geometry and the mesh.

As I am creating the mesh using default parameters, the wall is generated only on the top of the building and on the control volume. (In the screenshot, surfaces of the control volume are not selected.)

As per my observation, I think there may be problems in 2 steps:
1. I have created the body of building geometry using surface selection, and the body point is showing on the top part. (That may be the reason of mesh generation in Top part.)
2. As the minimum dimension of the wall thickness is only 2 mm, there may be a problem in creating the mesh using default parameters.

I have worked with 2D meshing before, but I am new to 3D in ICEM.

You should get good result if you block this geometry. Invest some time in learning how to block. For a geometry like this it will take you like one morning. care to share your geometry ? ?
