Hello everyone

I'm trying to draw a cylinder with 2 circles and on curve joining those 2 circles. To create the surface of the cylinder, I'm trying to use "Surface of Resolution" funtion in "Create / Modify Surface". I've done it before in a similar case and it worked. Bu this time, I get this error message :

Error : Surface of Resolution failed
Error : creating rev : {Unable to create rev surface} {Degenerate xAxis in IcCgArc}

Could you help me ?

Best Regards

Nat

Hi
I'm far from being an ICEM pro but that sort of thing happens to me when I haven't correctly projected my faces...

Hi
Sorry for this late reply. This Monday was a bank holiday here so...
Anyway, to associate faces :
Blocking --> Associate --> Assiciate Face to Surface
You could also cancel previous associations. Sometimes, eventhough you associate faces, your vertices and edges don't get associated. It's a small problem in ICEM sometimes. So you need to do that manually.

In your tree, in Blocking, do a right click on Faces and select Show association. This can help you.

That is... If your problem is due to an incorrect association.

Good luck

HI Sam,

I appreciate you reply. I forgot to remember you that my mesh is unstructured type, is your solution could use to solve the problem?

Regards,

Hi

I'm afraid I have never used unstructured mesh on ICEM. However, face association is must be the same for any kind of mesh right ? I mean your mesh depends on each "part" of your object so... You start meshing the surface right ? So I believe you have to associate anyway.
I suggest you post a new thread with a more appropriate title... Explain what you have done so far. Other people might also help you ^^

Good luck
