Dear all,
We are having a in-house solver with capabilities to read CGNS unstructured mesh. Now, a strange problem we are facing. The CGNS made by Gambit, when used in the solver, gives the output CGNS file with data on the boundary parts. But the CGNS made using ICEM, read well in the solver, but the output CGNS file has no boundary data, or face. (The solver is the same in both case.) CGNS version used: 2.4 or less. Mesh in ICEM made using blocking which is later converted to unstructured mesh. Can anyone help, do I need to change some settings in ICEM to get through this problem? Thank You! with regards Ashwani |

A possible problem which while analyzing the the two CGNS file (from Gambit and icem-cfd) we came across is shown in figure attach below. The CGNS-viewer shows in data description no. of dimension as 6 for icem while 4 for gambit. 4 seems more reasonable for boundary mesh elements. Also, for other boundary patches from icem this value (here, 6) is not consistent, while all boundary patches in Gambit has 4 as dimension.
