Hello,

I am trying to mesh a symmetric geometry but I am having the following problem. If I mesh the whole geometry I can have a good mesh (obviously depending on the size elements, etc). This mesh can be seen in the following pictures. (1 and 2).

If i try to mesh just half of the geometry I got the result of the picture 3. It seems like the size of the elements in the top line and the bottom line are not the same like they were in the full geometry. If I have the full geometry and I split the central blocks I have the same problem again (picture 4).

Can anybody help me to know why is this happening?

Thank you in advance.

Can you do " Copy Parameters - Parallel edges? " then the spacing should be same.

Hi jexposito,

i agree with shereez, use the option copy to parallel egdes. Or, if this doesn't work, use copy to selected edges. In worst case, copy the spacing by hand to those three edges.
If this doesn't work, you probably have only one block in your downstream nozzle. split this block at the beginning of the diffusor and set your edge settings according to your needs again.

Regarding your mesh, i think there is a little bit room for improvement. Try the structure shown in the attached picture. You'll probably get better ortogonality, skewness,... in that area that way.

With regards,
Sebastian

Hello,

Thank you very much for your answers. I used copy parameters to selected edge and linked bunching. Now it looks much better.

I will check now the results in Fluent with the current mesh and in the meanwhile I will try to improve the mesh with the new blocking suggestion.

Thank you and best regards.
