Default Importing Geometry for analysis in Ansys AQWA

Hi all,

I'm new to the "modelling" side of hydrodynamics (of a vessel) and have only recently begun using Ansys (Aqwa) for this purpose. I've done some tutorials I found on Youtube to help me get acquainted with the software, and these have been very helpful.

My goal, eventually, is to do a multibody analysis, but I want to begin with a frequency analysis of just one of the two bodies in order to get to know AQWA.

I am now trying to copy the steps in the tutorial using my own geometry, but I get stuck when trying to mesh it.

Importing the hull geometry (an .igs file) works and looks fine, but when I try to mesh it, I get the following error: "The MultiZone Quad/ Tri Method could not mesh some geometric surfaces with the given parameters"

Now I've delved deeper into Ansys' meshing capabilities and information I found here has been helpful, but seeing how complex a lot of the meshing done and explained here is, especially when heat transfer and internal stresses are involved, I've begun wondering whether the error might be caused during the importing of the file instead of at the meshing stage itself. The mesh I need is not complex at all: all I need is a rough surface mesh for the analysis of diffraction. It's getting the model to work that I'm aiming for now, not the quality of the results.

I've tried changing the the meshing parameters and this doesn't help either. Is meshing really what's causing te error or could the problem be with the importing of the geometry?

Would very much appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction!

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,
I have same problem too, can someone teach me how to mesh the geometry in Ansys Aqwa?
