Hi all,

I am using ansys meshing to mesh a complicated geometry. I am attaching a picture of a portion of the geometry that I have to mesh. I want a hexahedral mesh in this region and I know that it is possible to get it using multizone method. The issue is that the process of meshing should be iterative. The grey region on the left is a rectangular slot with a circular inlet. The other grey one, blue and orange are parts of cylinders and can be meshed with hexahedral elements. The thin plate like things are fluid gaps to which I prescribed a sizing in the z-direction. Can anyone guide me as to how to mesh this whole unit as a multizone?

you will have to do this in parts, you cant apply multizone to the whole geometry. If you really want an easy way to hex mesh this try cutcell meshing.

Hello thank you for replying quickly. Can you please elaborate on how to use cut cell meshing for this geometry?

Thanks.

You will find the option in the meshing details tree, or i will suggest look it up on ansys meshing tutorials.
