I have been working on a fairly complicated geometry for 2 weeks! I had meshed and saved the sizings/inflation, mapped faces, etc for critical zones.

Now finally towards 90% of the project, I ACCIDENTALY meshed a small plate with Patch Independent method and all the previous biases are gone and mapped meshes suppressed!

Delete the new method? Did that and yet the biases are still gone.

for a software that DOESN'T have an undo function one would expect some way to revert atleast a few steps?

close and open hoping that ansys didn't save the last few steps is not "undo".

How can such a software even be used by other industries?

Apologize for the rant, but thought this, is an issue.

Posting this just in case my anger is misplaced and I'm doing something wrong.

Hi Nvarma,

In any software once you click generate or Build solution, the software takes into consideration that you have judged your input hence it saves your work and runs the code for you. You can not go back from a generated/built code.
May be preview mesh in your case will be a better option, not sure!

Dont worry, it happens with all of us!

Cheers
KAPI

hi Kapi,
I understand. However I have about 70 bodies-with solid and fluid parts. And I almost always use selective meshing with worksheet. The sad part is, I didn't even click the generate button, I just selected the patch independent method in the drop down.

I am forced to use tet meshes in fluid regions(or change the geometry!), which never happened in case of gambit.
