Hi all,
I am trying to mesh a stupid geometry as a quarter of truncated cone (see attachements) with ICEM. I would like to mesh it as a swept free surfaces blocks. Then I wanted to create a "boundary layer" mesh on the curved surface by cutting the blocks...but: - I am not able to split the free blocks: how can I do that? - why often when I try to expand from 2D to 3D the blocking ICEM do stupid things like surfaces that cross themselves or it forget to mesh free faces? Can anyone suggest me the best way to mesh this geometry? Thanks in advance philus |

Ok I found a solution of the above problem by creating a Y-block and splitting it and so on.
But now, why when I assign "free type" to a block, ICEM simply forget to mesh it?!! (see attachement). I start to hate this software... |

Hi all,
I want to design an asymmetric aerofoils wind turbine in ICEM. So if you have tutorials or any guiders related with that , please let me know. Many thanks, |
