hi guys

i am having a solid body imported from inventor. please see the attached pic..

and i just want to have a structured mesh of hex cells throughout the body, with finer meshing near the cavity.

till now i have been able to make a structured mesh of hex cells but the cells are of uniform size throughout the body, not finer near the cavity.

i read that it may be possible by using slice in design modeler, but i am not able to do it quite yet, maybe because i dont have any sketch or something..i dot know.

i am a bit new to this and hence this question.

can anyone give a bit of step-by-step procedure of how to attain this.

i am also attaching a pic of another mesh which i would like my solid body to have..took it from the fluent guide.

thanks a lot..

Tet is as good as hex if cell count isn't an issue. secondly noone is going to give you a step by step guide, yes you need to slice, make new planes in the body where you want the slice to be then slice through those planes. now you have separate bodies to mesh, dont forget to add them as one part later on for a conformal mesh
