I have a case where there are a no. of tube assemblies placed parallel to gas flow in a duct. As I had to do only flow analysis without heat transfer I modeled each assembly of tubes as solid blocks and removed it from the total duct volume. Normally I only used Ansys Meshing in Workbench before but for this case as the geometry is very big and the free gas area between the assemblies being very small AW Meshing is using all my memory and processing power to calculate the proximity etc even after slicing the geometry to the maximum extent possible.
When I checked around for other softwares I observed that I have a licence for ICEM CFD too at my workspace. Now I took some time to learn all the basics and do some meshing for easier multi-solid bodies. My problem is I'm correcting the imported geometry for topology and while trying to do the 2D Surface Blocking in sweep mode my ICEM is not responding for very long time. What could be the problem and is there any easy way to mesh this type of geometry in any other method or meshing software?? |
