Centrifugal Pump: Blade Lean Angle?

Default Centrifugal Pump: Blade Lean Angle?

I am new to this website. I have started studying Centrifugal Pump, meanwhile i try to understand BladeGen. I have understood different terminologies related to software and theory. I have understood the theta angle, beta angle but i am unable to understand how ansys calculates blade lean angle. I am totally confused. I have read the help file defining the blade lean angle gamma_r and gamma_z but the way ansys calculates these angle are different. I used all those formulas ansys gave in help file but they are never matched with ansys *.dat file (created by right clicking on the theta or beta graph and opening with microsoft Excel 2007).

I also try to search on google and in different books but i could not find lean angle.

Please someone help me with this.

One Side Question:
I want to choose between the "Centrifugal and Axial Pumps" and "Heat Exchangers and Boilers" for my Higher studies for my MSc and Phd, which field should be chosen and why?
I want to become professional in any one of these fields related to designing, which has more scope in Industry?
Which field require expensive equipments/instruments for testing and experimenting?
I am more interested in "Heat Exchangers and Boilers" but the time required to study the massive literature/books (like heat and mass transfer, heat exchangers, Boiling and Evaporation, two phase flow, structural design of pressure vessels and ASME codes etc.) is large. What do you suggest which books should be studied and in which priority order to become good professional expert?

I want to hear from people from the experts.

Hi , i have same Problem, did you understand , how can negative or positive lean impeller , calculator ansys?

Positive or Negative lean angle is with reference to impeller rotation. If lean is a toward the rotation of impeller, it is positive other wise negative.

Hi man, I am unable to find the help files for Bladegen and When I open helpfiles from Bladegen window, it does not open.

Can you tell me how to get bladegen help files or mail me at ashwani.thakur321@gmail.com.

Also i am unable to clearly understand theta, beta angles and how to calculate them from airfoil data. Can you suggest me some resources.

Can you tell me how I can use the blade gen if I have the blade dimensions?
