Hi,
I'm quite fresh in meshing and a new user to this forum. I'm trying to add prism layers for a fin-tube geometry in order to capture the viscous sub-layer effects without use of wall functions. I successfully created the surface and volume mesh, using the Octree mesh method. setup.jpg closeup.jpg When trying to create prism layers I get surface orientation errors and multiple edges. Also, the mesh quality drops drastically. I've read on the forums that this is normal when adding prisms, but I would preferably have the minimum quality around 0,4. I suspect that the main problem is the sharp angles in between the fins when growing the prism layers. It is in these areas that I get the worst quality of the mesh and mesh errors. I've tried changing the prism meshing parameters without any luck. My question is then how to approach this problem. Is there a clever way to arrange the prisms in between the fins? Thanks in advance for any help. |
