I doing grid generation using icem cfd. First I split the geometry into four L shaped parts and doing blocking for each part. the corresponding figure is shown below...
But I am not able to create O grid for all the faces. For some faces its showing "Ogrid not success full"... Any one help please... with regards, Dhaya400 |

Your blocking is wrong. Block it like in the below image then split an O-grid through all blocks with the pipe-end faces selected.
If this is not clear to you, please do the ICEM tutorials, as the one with the half pipe junction has all the skills you need. Stu |

@ stuart23,
Thanks for your reply... I have curvature in the model(as shown). If I do blocking as you said, I am unable to get the mesh all over the model especially at the curvature. Its showing some discontinuity along curvature. with regards, Dhayananth |

Hi Dhayananth,
Draw lines that bisect each of the fillets perpendicular to the pipe axes using rather curve from surface UV tool and set U or V to 0.5. Then associate the blocking edges at the corner of the two pipes to the new curves. Do not associate the vertices at the ends of these corner edges to anything, they should be allowed to float and will hopefully find their best position with some Orthogonal smoothing. Good Luck Stu Last edited by stuart23; November 10, 2014 at 07:46. Reason: AUTOCORRECT!!! |

Hi Dhayananth,
You have created the curves using the wrong surface parameter, if you used U, try V or vice-versa. You should end up with the curves shown in yellow in my image. Then associate the blocking edges I have highlighted in red to these curves. Make sure the verts highlighted in black are not associated to anything. Stu |

Thanks for your inputs. I have managed to complete the mesh with O grid however there are some patches(highlighted in attachment). Can you please suggest some techniques to overcome. with regards, Dhayananth |

You've done something funny with surface projections. Leave all the surfaces in the same part and leave the surface projection method as project to nearest.

Thanks for all your suggestions. However I am unable to rectify this problem. As I am a newbie to ICEM meshing, can you please elaborate the steps. It will be a great help for me. With regards, Dhayananth |

Hi,
I am unable to overcome mesh overlap problem during my meshing. Can any one give some suggestions to rectify my issue please? I share my icem cfd file in the following link https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9q...ew?usp=sharing with regards, Dhayananth |
