I have a 2D domain that is divided up into different surfaces. I made the geometry in Solidsorks and imported it into Workbench. When I open the geometry in Design Modeler it appears perfect with all the different surfaces.

However, when I want to apply and automatic meshing method to only specific faced and not the entire body, it does not allow me to select a face, but only a body and thus the entire domain.

Is there a setting somewhere where I can tell Mesh that I am working in 2D and thus that the concept of a body does not exist?

I know of the setting when you right click on geometry in WB and select properties and then select 2D instead of 3D, this did not work!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you sure your solidworks model is 2D?
For 2D model in solidworks, you should use surface!

Perviously I was imported 2D model from solidworks to ansys and it work perfectly..

Gweher will become famous soon enough
It's suppose to work without any issue. Within AM do you have all your surfaces under the geometry tab? If so you're maybe not using the proper selection filter (you're under "Body/Element" (by default) and not using "Face"> hotkey "Ctrl + f" should solve your problem)
