Hi, I ran into a problem that I don't have a good solution.
I generate a very complicated mesh in icem and import to CFX. CFX simulation can run, but always gives a warning like this. ERROR #002100011 has occurred in subroutine cVolSec. | | Message: | | A negative SECTOR volume has been detected. Execution will proceed | | but this is a possible cause of robustness problems. | | The location of the first negative volume is reported below. | | Volume : -0.1090E-11 | | Location : ( 0.46778E+02, -0.90059E-01, -0.22054E+00) | | This warning may be made fatal by setting the expert parameter | | 'negative volume option = 1'. I can use the coordinates to find the bad element and fix it manually in ICEM. However, I want to know how many elements have this kind problem before I can go ahead do it. If it is like 10 problematic elements, I can do it. If there are hundreds of problematic elements, I have to figure out some new method to generate mesh. Looks like CFX only gives you the coordinate information of one problematic element (the FIRST negative volume....). How can I know all of them in one shot? Also, I found all those problematic elements are flat tets elements. Can I use smoothing function in ICEM to fix them? And which quality parameter should I use, quality, aspect ratio, skew or something else? Thanks a lot |
