Hey,

I'm working on a project in which I have to hybrid mesh a difficult geometry.
Therefore I tried to use several hybrid meshing techniques for simplier problems, just to see which method would be best for the problem.

But here I had some issues (I tried the hybrid mesh via free blocks):
First of all I blocked all my geometry. Then I set the type of the blocks, that should be tets later, to free (Picture 1). Here some strange things appeared and the meshing was not shown correctly (Picture 2). After I set "3D free block mesh type" to e.g. hexa-core for these 3 blocks, "cut plane" shows s.th. like this (Picture 3).

I hope somebody can help me and tell me what to do, what I forgot to do. Otherwise I have to try the "regular" hybrid meshing way like in the tutorial.

Thanks a lot

Flo

REASON OF PROBLEM FOUND!

Hey there,

I finally found the reason of my problem. I was using more than 1 processor for meshing.
So when switching more than one block to free (e.g. 3 blocks), with multiple processors in usage, there is an error in your unix-konsole saying "2 of 3 unstructured volumes did not mesh".
So as I conclude, it isn't possible to work with more than one processor when you want to switch more than one block to free.

But after all it would be interesting to solve the major problem, so that usage of more processors is possible in this case.

Best wishes
Flo
