Hi,
I have been having this problem for days, and I still don't understand what is wrong. I have been doing a 2D hexa mesh generation for 2 quadrilaterals together and just want to look at heat flux across them. I create my points, lines and surfaces, and then create a 2D planar block. I cut the block into 2 separate blocks, and associate the lines to the edges. Then I associate each surface to the corresponding block face. When I load my mesh from blocking, I always get the problem of single edges around my mesh when i do a mesh quality check. Ansys Fluent consequently does not load the mesh complaining of zones not referenced by the grid. Please can you help me? Regards, Nicholas |

Single edges on the boundaries of a 2D mesh are normal. Look up the definition of single edge in the manual.
If I remember correctly the "zones not referenced by the grid" message shows up by default, when there is a mesh on both sides of a boundary, which would be the interface between the two blocks. I guess there is also a shadow zone created at the interface. For heat transfer over the interface the coupled wall option is the right way to go. Look up coupled wall in the fluent manual. |
