Hello there.

I have been dealing with the same problem over and over in ICEM 14.0, maybe you can help me.

I am creating a simple 2D mesh, following the procedure below:

1) create points
2) create curves from points
3) create parts from curves
4) create planar 2D block
5) associate edges to curves
6) define pre-mesh params
7) convert to unstructured mesh
8) output to FLUENT

What happens is when I read the mesh in FLUENT, the boundary conditions (related to the parts) can't be seen.

Going back to ICEM, I noticed that when I check the Info of each part, the missing parts contains no elements - as if the was no edge association to them.

I tried to redo the edge association to the curves and then I have found that when I try to select the a single curve (related to a part), I can only select all curves at once.

The only solution I've found so far is to deleted all the geometry and build it again.

Any idea? Am I doing something blatantly wrong?

Cheers

Hi Bayard,

Once you have done the association, if you want to select only a part of one curve you need to Ungroup the curve. So, for do that, you have to click in Blocking -> Group/Ungroup Curves -> Action "Ungroup Curves" -> Select curve or curves.

[SOLVED]

Far and FJSJ

Thanks for your prompt answer!

The problem was that the curves were grouped - as pointed out by FJSJ.

Ungrouping the curves solved the issue.

Best regards!
