How to transfer bodies in FE Modeler to Initial Geometry

I have some pretty ugly NASTRAN meshes with material defined for the groups of elements. I have managed to import the meshes into FE Modeler.
In FE Modeler, the separate regions (corresponding to materials) of the mesh show up as separate bodies, and the material ID's have also successfully been transferred. However, when I generate the Initial Geometry, the geometry generates as a single part, with 1000+ separate bodies. All I want to do is be able to transfer the existing bodies (which are separate) into separate parts in the generated geometry, so that I am able to do structural analysis in Static Structural. Help? I've attached a screenshot to illustrate since my description suck. |

I am able to import the mesh (NASTRAN file) into ICEM.
Here the separate bodies show up as separate parts (Image shown Below). I am trying to analyze the mesh in static structural, assigning a separate material property to each part. There must be a way to do this. It's driving me crazy. Additional information: At the moment I am linking ICEM to FE Modeler to Static Structural |

Hi goddy72,
did you managed to find the solution for your problem? I don't have the ICEM, so I can't try what you described in your 2nd post. |
