Hi,

Being new at ICEM, with some good help, I was able to get a decent looking hex mesh to extrude into my 3D model. However, I realized from my changes in mesh sizings (from far field to my focus region near the leading edge) the mesh looks good in 2D but not so much after being expanded to 3D. I ended up with some high aspect ratio elements (not including the BL) as I approached the leading edge. Please see the regions indicated by the left and centre arrow in my attachment.

Does anyone know if ICEM blocks can jump sizings from one block to the next? For example, have one block double the mesh size as the one adjacent to it yet maintain 2:1 node matching? (see zone indicated by the right arrow)

Thanks in advance.

you can do that using refine block. the result will be hanging node which fluent has not problem dealing with it...
