Do you have any idea how to fill volume in such model?

Thank you

very complex geometry, you will have to close all the holes and opening and use the fill option. After getting your fluid domain, the geometry will not be suitable for simulation since you need an extended outlet section.
I would have extrude a big cylinder useing the frozen feature, then make a boolean operation...

It is no so easy, as I thought, my model is here:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/qaywo4

because I want to add inner fluid domain not only fill!

i've never been able to import the soliworks geometry, guess it takes me a license to do that (maybe)... did you try my suggestion: here is a video describing the process:

yes I was trying but I would like to have only inner volume it means: fluid domain + geometry

thank you!

this is when the add frozen is suitable. you will have two bodies. just delete the one that you don't need. if you could import you geometry, please send me the AGDB file so i can take a look at it. not the solidwork file

yes nice, there is only one option cut off all outer fluid and leave casing and inner fluid, what do you think?

diamondx: do you have fixed idea how to remove fluid behind casing?

the slice feature allows to do that...you just need to select the plane or the surface on which the slice will be performed... give it a try since i'm not sure how you want you inner domain to extend at the outlet

Fluid has to be removed from both sides

understood, if you really wanted that way... i can only think about performing several slices... and yet still not sure it will give us the right geometry. let me think about something else. i will get back to you when i've got a solution for this. i have some business to deal with... i will try my best....

do you want something like this ??? keep in my that you are keeping all the geometry feature. which can be difficult to mesh. like the region where the red arrow points:

Red arrow indicate another body which will be suppressed I would like to have fluid domain plus casing Casing is suppressed in this case, is it?

no it is not...

here is the file:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/35161486/aero-engine-2.agdb

you will notice a lot of work in it. actually i gave up on slicing and deciding to closse the hole. then i gave up on the fill feature. i used sweep, then a boolean operation. very fast and easy...

Good luck with meshing process.,, we will be there to assist too
