Hi all,
I am meshing a convergent divrgent nozzle in ICEM CFD. But I have been breaking my head over getting a very fine mesh on the throat area and then gradually increasing the cell size towards inlet and outlet side. I also wanted to create boundary layer close to wall. Please help. |

I have tried the mesh density option for creating mesh size gradient, but with a expansion ratio of 1.5 the mesh size has been constant throughout.

a convergent-divergent nozzle is very suitable for a structured mesh. you can then use play with the space between the nodes... is it 2d or 3d ? is it structured ? also diferrent cases were discussed in this forum, please use the search button on top and see the thread that discuss this. if you don't find what you need, come back here. hope it can help...

Hi Ali,
I am trying to model it in 3D. I did try the structured mesh with the desired gradient, but the quality was very poor. I also searched in the forum, but could not get anything Can you plese share a link to the discussion, it would be very helpful. Thanks Saumya |
