I'm trying to create a hybrid meshing for some dynamic meshing. It's the simulation of a spheroid oscillating inside a fluid medium. To do this, I created a structured mesh around the spheroid and in the rest of the domain. Unstructured mesh is sandwiched between these two structured regions. How much I may try, I'm not able to create a conformal mesh at the interface. A little help would be greatly appreciated.

For 3D, the answer normally is Edit Mesh > Merge Node > Merge Meshes, as explained in the ICEM 11 tut man p458 (4.6.2 Hybrid tube)
For 2D (not this case, but if you're looking for it): see http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...ary-layer.html, especially the third post. Last edited by Coris; January 10, 2013 at 16:47. Reason: Added 2d case link for googlers |
