sry . i think actually you must not mesh the wings . you must a create a big volume (like cube or a cylinder ) around the wings so that fluent will solve the flow around the wings . then make the volume pressure_far_field in boundary condition and the wings wall .

Hello,
i am trying to import a screw-barrel model which is designed in solidworks, and have the problem at the time of file importing iges, acis and step format in gambit. in the acis format, I received a message in Gambit: ''save file is from a later version of Acis and in the rest of format it is showing the license error . can anyone tell how to get rid from this problem? it is very urgent. |

what is the exact error message?
for importing geometry you need a special key in the license file

The source of this problem is incompatibility of the Gambit version and Solidworks.
Save as your IGS or ACIS file in a lower version like 9 or 10 and then reload it in the Gambit. Bahar |

Thank you mAx and Bahar. I followed your suggestion and it works in ACIS version 12.
but again I am facing another problem during the meshing. Can any one tell, how to mesh a mini screw in gambit?. I need to mesh this by using hexagonal volume mesh but due to the highly skew surface it is not meshing and also it is not recognizing some faces of screw during mesh and when I am going for quadrilateral mesh, mesh is happening but on exporting this file in ansys polyflow it is neither showing the boundaries nor the screw geometry. |

display your geometry and also the surface mesh which gives you trouble
