Hi all,
I have a cylinder and I want to simulate only a little part of it, for example 36°! In fluent I have to set mesh>modify-zones>make-periodic.
In order to do that, I need that the two sides have the same mesh, it's right? How can I set that condition in Ansys mesher?

Regards
F

Use "Match Control" in Meshing and select 2 faces of your periodic BCs. Also if it is rotational periodicity change "Transformation" to "Cyclic".

I try to do it, but it gives me an error: it says that the two surfaces have not the same geometry. Tomorrow I try to do the geometric model again.

Thanks a lot!

Hi felicemastronzo, I have a very similar problem to yours, my geometry is not a cylinder but a parallelepiped with four circular holes. I'd like to have two identical surface meshes, the upper side and the lower side.
How did you solve your problem?

Thanks you so much
