Hi All,
Firstly, happy new year!! I am specifically looking for reference material or best practices on using ANSA to prepare 3d surface models for solving in starccm+. I understand ccm needs a different approach than some other solvers that do not require thickness to be modeled within the various parts. CCM requires thickness modeled and also does not allow non-manifold or free edges. Is anybody familiar with the methodology that we use in ansa to prepare 3d models for star-ccm for external aero/ thermal analyses? (OR). Do you have any reference material on the modeling approaches/ techniques used to build surface models in ANSA for further volume meshing and solving in StarCCM+? Wish you all a great year ahead. Please respond in here with any leads or answers. Thank you very much. Regards, V Last edited by vinny.voona; January 5, 2022 at 10:15. |

Most of the time when you receive the cad from cad team, it has thickness. Thickness are removed for other solvers to make it simple. You keep the cad with thickness and mesh it. Fill the unwanted holes. In my opinion STL meshing algorithm in ansa is best for this.
