Hello everyone,
My goal is to create a 3D CFD model of an axial turbine (stator + rotor)
I want to model a single blade chanel for both stator and rotor.
Those single chanels will be surrounded by periodic boundary conditions.
For this type of bcs, the intended cfd solver requires conformal mesh between the two boundaries (with a certain level of tolerance for nodes matching distances).
In the past, i achieved that using Ansys meshing with "match control" but results were unsatisfactory in terms of mesh quality so I want to try Ansa this time around.
I'm pretty happy with overall mesh quality produced but i do not understand how to achieve conformal mesh between two interfaces.
I've tried different decks : Fluent, StarCCM, OpenFoam and Tau. I applied the setup as described in chapter 10.1 of "ANSA for CFD Brief User's Guide" but without success. When i launch auxiliaries => BC tools after volumic mesh, there are only messages in the non-conformal section talking about "interface not within the threshold distance". It it surprising that i dont have to specify axis of rotation and pitch angle for rotating periodic bcs. Surely, there is something I dont catch here...Any help would be greatly appreciated !
