Hi everyone,

I have a problem with taking output from Ansa.

I want use Abaqus CFD. I have meshed my geometry in Ansa. But when I take output from Ansa (the file format is ''.inp'') and import to Abaqus, the model attribute is opened in Standart&Explicit not in CFD. So I cannot use the meshed geometry to define fluid flow& fluid properties..

I also tried to take output as .iges and .step. It didn't opened in Abaqus.

Do anyone know how to take output for Abaqus CFD?

Thanks for attentions.

Hi there,
I assume you would have to pass the ANSA output *.inp file through ABAQUS CAE pre-processor in order to output it for ABAQUS CFD.
Hope this helps

Hi vangelis thanks for reply,

Here is some pictures about my process. I don't know if there is another way to import my ansa output to Abaqus. As you can see in last picture, my file is opened in Standard & Explicit Model Type even though it should have had to be CFD. I have checked my output parameters but there is not kind of model type setting. I have looked a way to export model from Abaqus and import again in CFD module but what problem in this way is model is only contain mesh and it cannot be exported without geometry in Abaqus.

Thanks again for your attentions.

ANSA will support ABAQUS CFD output in ANSA v17.1.0, probably by the end of the year.
Until then I would also ask the ABAQUS community to find how to "translate" an inp file output from ANSA to ABAQUS CFD.
I am sorry I cannot help more in this field.
