CD-adapco to Showcase Surface Wrapping Technology and Simulation of Ice Protection Systems at 46th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeti

Posted By: www.cd-adapco.com
Date:Fri, 21 Dec 2007, 1:16 p.m.

CD-adapco, long time exhibitors at the AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting, will be bidding farewell to Reno by unveiling STAR-CCM+ V2.10 which incorporates the latest in flow, thermal and stress simulation technology for the aerospace industry.

CD-adapco’s interactive booth (number 304) is located close to the entrance of the exhibition area. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with key CD-adapco staff and to experience the very latest in CFD solver and meshing technology.

CD-adapco will again host their “First Class Cabin” event on the evening of Tuesday January 8 from 4:30-6:30pm. The reception will include an open bar and light hors d’oeuvres. All attendees are welcome in CD-adapco’s First Class Cabin. CD-adapco is also a community sponsor of the “AIAA Farewell to Reno Party” being hosted by our friends and partners from Intelligent Light. The party will feature refreshments and live blues music in the Silver State Ballroom on Monday January 7th from 7-10pm.

A particular focus of CD-adapco’s presence at the 46th AIAA Aerospace SciencesMeeting, will be ice protection simulation, which utilizes the latest in multiphysics computational simulation technology to predict the extent to which ice is likely to accumulate on an airframe and guide engineers in design and certification for flight in icing conditions.

CD-adapco staff will also be on-hand to demonstrate their revolutionary surface wrapping capability that will automatically repair poor-quality or overly complex geometrical data (so called “dirty CAD”). This approach has been adopted by some of the world’s leading aerospace companies to prepare geometry for everything from under nacelle simulations to landing gear aero acoustic analyses. Use of this technology can result in a significant reduction in the time required to produce simulation results from complex or poor-quality geometric data. In some cases users have been able to reduce their model creation times from weeks to just a few hours.

The 46th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit will be held between 7th and 10th of January 2008 at the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel, Reno, Nevada
